My wife and I recently attended a jazz orchestra concert at UCI’s Winifred Smith Hall. Grammy nominee Bobby Rodriquez — an amazing trumpeter in his own right — served as conductor.  The concert is more than just music.  It’s also educational.

I recently had the opportunity to see Your Ocean, My Ocean (YOMO/Intermedia) at UCI’s xMPL theatre. The production was an experimental performance feast, combining beautiful dance sequences with music, media and visual art.

Have you ever thought about where new music comes from? I have. I was fortunate to attend a recent performance at Irvine Valley College where a young artist introduced us to new music he had created. The experience was nothing short of extraordinary.
