It’s Harvest Time! Help Collect Wildflower Seeds

Sign up to help behind the scenes at the Irvine Ranch Conservancy’s (IRC) one-of-a-kind Native Seed Farm.

On Saturday (July 27th) from 8:30 am until 11:30am, volunteers will help harvest seeds from beautiful native spring wildflowers, like California Poppies and Arroyo Lupines.

Irvine Mayor Shea continues fight to defeat Veterans Cemetery

The State has again budgeted millions to build and maintain the Southern California Veterans Memorial Park & Cemetery at the previously approved site in the Great Park.  The question now becomes whether Irvine Mayor Christina Shea will continue her 5-year crusade to deny a final resting place for veterans in Orange County.

My wife and I attended a rare and thoroughly enjoyable performance by Mari Akagi, a renowned pianist visiting from Japan.  As a special treat, Mari’s brother Kei Akagi — a UCI professor — performed alongside Mari for a truly entertaining piece composed by UCI Arts-Music Professor, Christopher Dobrian.
