Olivia Rodrigo to Debut Her Inaugural Music Festival at Great Park Live
Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum artist Olivia Rodrigo has announced Daisy Chain Fields, a brand-new music festival celebrating the power of women in music while supporting and uplifting women and girls.
Taking place on August 29th at Great Park Live, the inaugural festival will feature an all-women lineup across two stages, showcasing some of today’s most exciting and influential artists.
Net proceeds from the event will benefit nonprofit organizations dedicated to advancing opportunities, equity, and advocacy for women and girls.
Irvine Launches Bike Share Pilot Program
Residents and visitors now have a new way to get around Irvine with the launch of the City’s first fixed-station Bike Share Pilot Program.
On June 16th, City officials unveiled the program during a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community bike ride — marking Irvine’s entry into the growing network of cities offering public bike-share services as an alternative transportation option.
The pilot begins with two stations located at the Irvine Civic Center (1 Civic Center Plaza) and University Town Center (4255 Campus Drive).
Sean Joyce to Return as Irvine’s City Manager
Two months after current City Manager Sean Crumby announced his plans to step down, the City has hired Sean Joyce to be Irvine’s new City Manager. Joyce is expected to begin in mid-August.
Joyce served as Irvine’s City Manager for 13 years, including during the Great Recession, one of the most significant economic downturns in recent U.S. history. Joyce is widely credited with developing Irvine’s “Bridge Plan,” a three-year financial strategy adopted in 2009 to help the City navigate the Great Recession.
The plan was designed to stabilize Irvine’s finances by drawing upon the City’s “Rainy Day Reserves” and minimizing impacts on residents and City employees.

As the 2026 FIFA World Cup concludes this weekend, the City of Irvine is celebrating an unforgettable chapter in the community’s history and thanking the U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team for allowing Irvine to play a role in the team’s World Cup journey.
From the team’s first training session to its final World Cup match, Irvine embraced the excitement of hosting the national team.
Thousands of residents and visitors gathered throughout the month to glimpse training sessions, attend community events, and cheer on the players as they represented the United States on soccer’s biggest stage. Along the way, the team’s presence brought neighbors together, inspired young athletes, and created lasting memories for families and fans throughout Irvine.
