In Theatres Now: Long Shot and Booksmart

Long Shot (81% on Rotten Tomatoes) is a political comedy starring Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen. Theron plays a sophisticated Secretary of State vying to become the first female President. She runs into her old childhood neighbor, played by Seth Rogen, who is now a successful journalist, and the two unexpectedly reignite their chemistry throughout her campaign. Booksmart (97% on Rotten Tomatoes) is a smart, funny, and fresh teenage comedy about two rule-following high school seniors determined to let loose on their last night before graduation. The two female leads are played by Beanie Feldstein (from Ladybird) and Kaitlyn Dever, with critics already calling it one of the best coming of age comedies ever. Available to Stream on Netflix: Always Be My Maybe and See You Yesterday

Always Be My Maybe (88% on Rotten Tomatoes) is a fresh new romantic comedy about two childhood friends who have lost touch and suddenly reconnect after 15 years. The film is set in San Francisco with Asian American leads Ali Wong and Randall Park. (Available to stream on Netflix)

See You Yesterday (94% on Rotten Tomatoes) is a new Science Fiction film that most folks probably haven’t heard of. Recently released on Netflix, it stars a cast mostly composed of acting newcomers. The movie focuses on two gifted high school students working on a new invention that allows them to travel back in time. The kids try to use their invention to save the life of one of their older brothers but the plan keeps swerving off course. (Available to stream on Netflix)

Just Left theatres, Coming Soon to DVD: Captain Marvel and Us

Captain Marvel (78% on Rotten Tomatoes) introduces audiences to the latest Marvel superhero who battles to save Earth from war with two different alien races. (Available to rent on Redbox on June 14th)

Us (94% on Rotten Tomatoes) is the second film from Jordan Peele, acclaimed Director of Get OutUs is a horror movie that follows the Tyler family, who run into four strangers who look exactly like them. (Available to rent on Redbox on June 18)

Coming Soon: Late Night and Toy Story 4

Late Night (80% so far on Rotten Tomatoes) is a workplace comedy about the first female late night host and a female writer the show hires. Starring Emma Thompson (from Love Actually and An Education) and Mindy Kaling (from The Office) (coming to Irvine theatres June 13th)

Toy Story 4 (No Score yet on Rotten Tomatoes) is the latest installment in the Toy Story series. After a 9-year break, Woody, Buzz, and the gang have a new adventure on their hands trying to save a new favorite toy after it gets lost. (Coming to Irvine theatres June 21st)
