Sometimes, the obvious turns out to be not so obvious. It should have been obvious that after the June 5th landslide defeat of Measure B, the City Council would get the message that they should begin building the Veterans Cemetery immediately — at the original Great Park site — or face the voters’ wrath.
Since, apparently, the Council wasn’t listening, it looks like we at ICNV will have to go to work in the coming months to make sure that those 28,638 “NO on B” voters show up on Election Day (Nov 6th), to elect a proven “NO on B” Council majority! No imposters or late-comers will do. Irvine deserves dependable candidates and Councilmembers.
ICNV is Irvine’s only independent community newspaper, free of developer control. Our mission is to provide the Irvine community with accurate, fact-based news and commentary to strengthen our local democracy.
