There are a host of pets (dogs, cats, and rabbits) waiting at the Irvine Animal Care Center (located at 6443 Oak Canyon) for their forever home.

Even during this period of physical distancing, we need to keep moving through exercise. 

Several gyms and yoga studios are offering free live-streaming classes to keep you moving from the safety of your home. In addition, there are free live-streaming dance classes to help keep you fit.

Irvine’s Open Space spans more than 40,000 acres that families can explore through free hiking, biking, and equestrian activities.  There are also educational programs designed for children, and stewardship opportunities for the whole family. 

On January 16th at 5pm, the University Park Library will host Karen & Wayne Brown from The Ocean Adventure as they present a program the whole family will enjoy, entitled “Antarctica Penguins Expedition.”

Grab the whole family and head over to Heritage Park Library (located at 14361 Yale Avenue) on Tuesday, December 31st from 11:30am until 12:30pm to celebrate the new year at noon.

Who says you can’t ice skate in SoCal? Now through January 2nd, enjoy ice skating with friends and family at the Irvine Spectrum! The area near the Giant Wheel has been transformed into a beautiful winterscape featuring holiday-themed music and lights…and a huge ice skating rink.

Irvine will host the 2019 Women’s World Softball Baseball Competition (WSBC) U-19 World Cup on August 11th through August 17th at Bill Barber Memorial Park (4 Civic Center Plaza).

The US team will be battling for an unprecedented three-peat.

Earth Day is Monday, April 22nd.  It’s the day when millions of citizens across the world come together to help protect and preserve our planet. It’s also a great opportunity for families to explore Irvine’s wilderness parks while learning how to help protect local plants and animals.

On June 5th, our citizen-led “NO on B” referendum campaign culminated in a resounding 63 percent voter mandate.
