While Other Cities Set Up Vaccination Sites, Irvine Hits the Pause Button

The COVID-19 statistics in January were devastating here in Orange County.  In addition to 75,208 new cases, January was the deadliest month on record since the pandemic began; 1,187 lives were lost across the County in just 31 days. 

While other cities are busy setting up mass-vaccination sites, Irvine still has no plans in place. Now, it appears the City has allowed developer FivePoint to nix the use of our Great Park altogether.

COVID-19 Vaccination Rollout Isn’t Rolling!

The COVID-19 vaccine rollout has not been rolling, even for our critical health care workers who were supposed to have been vaccinated by this point.

Since receiving the initial doses in December, by late January only one-third of the available 1.3 million vaccines in California had been administered. That’s unacceptable!

What we need right now are elected leaders who we can count on to take swift action to immediately establish a robust vaccination program.

Masks Save Lives … When We Wear Them & When They Fit

Although the COVID-19 vaccine rollout has begun, it is critical that we all continue to do our part to prevent the rapid transmission of the virus.

The most important thing you can do is to wear a mask every time you leave the house. And the mask must fit properly, covering your mouth and your nose. The nose is connected to the respiratory system and the virus can be inhaled.
