This November 6th, voters in the Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) are going to be electing two School Board members in a new manner.   Instead of voting for candidates who are running district-wide — in a so-called “at-large” election — IUSD is now divided into five smaller geographic voting areas.

As an independent newspaper, our mission at Irvine Community News & Views (ICNV) is to inform and educate Irvine residents on issues that directly impact their lives.

The resounding NO on B vote was more than a rejection of the FivePoint land-swap.  It was also a reaffirmation of the productive path that the City was on — since 2014 — to build the long-planned Veterans Cemetery in the Great Park.
