Kathleen Treseder’s Disturbing Attacks on Her Critics

The Irvine Police Department (IPD) investigated Treseder’s claims and determined that she was lying. As the Orange County Register reported on March 8, 2024: “There hasn’t been any credible threat that has been made, according to the Irvine Police Department. . . . Sgt. Karie Davies, an IPD spokesperson, said as of now, there is no active investigation into any credible threat.”

Last week, the Irvine Community Land Trust removed Treseder as a board member. Treseder had conditioned her support for a new affordable housing project on the removal of a director she disliked, then she stopped attending meetings after the Board refused her demand. A day after her removal, Treseder viciously attacked the Land Trust during an Irvine City Council meeting.

These are not two isolated instances. During the public comments portion of Council meetings, Kathleen Treseder frequently leaves the dais when a resident criticizes her or raises an issue with which she disagrees. Let’s remember: Irvine citizens have the right to be heard and elected officials have a duty to listen.
