The University of California, Irvine (UCI) now holds the distinction as the most popular of the eight UC campuses for California’s college-bound high school seniors.
A record 70,540 California high school graduates applied to UCI, making it the top UC campus choice this year.
Also notable is the fact that a third of the in-state applicants come from underrepresented-minority communities and almost half will be first-generation college students.
In addition, UCI is ranked second among UC campuses for community college transfer applications.
