Forbes Magazine has named the University of California, Irvine (UCI) the nation’s “best value” public university based on costs, quality, graduation rates, student debt and postgrad earnings.
Among all universities — public and private — UCI ranks third, behind Brigham Young University and Princeton University.
Earlier this year, U.S. News & World Report ranked UCI the seventh-best public university in America.
Last year, Money magazine named UCI the third best college in the country for delivering a superior education at an affordable price, enabling graduates to avoid heavy debt and succeed in the workplace.
More than 70,000 California high school students applied to attend UCI this fall, making it the most popular UC campus. Additionally, the university was the top choice for first-generation students and those from low-income families and underrepresented groups.
