There are a number of fun things to do in and around Irvine over the holidays. Below are a few of our favorites:
Shop, ice skate, ride the ferris wheel, and take a family photo at the Irvine Spectrum. The Irvine Spectrum is fully decorated for the holidays! Whether it’s taking a ride on the colorful ferris wheel, grabbing dinner or a holiday present, or taking a picture in front of the huge Christmas tree, the Spectrum has it all!
Visit Irvine Regional Park for their Christmas themed Railroad. Check out the Tunnel of Lights as you ride the Irvine Park Railroad Christmas train to Santa’s Village. More info here.
Enjoy the Hikari Light Festival at Tanaka Farms. The Hikari Light Festival is underway at Tanaka Farms. Book your spot now before it fills up!
Write a letter to Santa. “Gus” is the City of Irvine’s official elf who coordinates with Santa every year to make sure all letters from Irvine get to Santa, and receive a response.
From now until December 13th, Irvine families can drop off their letters at one of the Santa mailboxes listed below:
- Heritage Park Community Center (14301 Yale Avenue)
- Turtle Rock Community Center (1 Sunnyhill)
- Northwood Community Center (4531 Bryan Avenue)
Enjoy holiday lights at the Great Park. Starting Dec 7th and continuing through the end of the year, the holiday lights will be on full display at the Great Park, perfect for a walk with the family!

Watch a holiday movie at home. Most of your favorite holiday movies are available to watch right in the comfort of your own home.
