Track star Jaide Boston
At just 12 years old, Irvine native Jaide Boston is already making a name for herself on the national track scene.
An eight-time All-American Junior Olympian, Jaide competes in the 13-14 age division and specializes in the 400-meter and 800-meter track events.
Recently, Jaide helped her Black Lightning relay team capture first place in the 4x400m at the USA Track & Field (USATF) National Junior Olympics, posting a national-leading time. Just one week later, she and her teammates traveled to Des Moines, Iowa, for the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Junior Olympics, where they earned third place in the 4x400m.
A dedicated student as well as an accomplished athlete, Jaide is entering seventh grade at Sierra Vista Middle School with an impressive 3.86 GPA. She trains three to four days a week, balancing demanding practices with her academic goals — a testament to her discipline and determination.
Jaide plans to add the 200m to her events as she continues developing her speed and versatility. Away from the track, she enjoys reading, doing her nails, and spending time with family.
Looking ahead, Jaide dreams of competing for USC and becoming a neurologist. With a combination of talent, faith, hard work, and determination, this young athlete is just getting started!
