Orange County Moves to Yellow Tier

by

On May 18th, Orange County officially moved to the least restrictive yellow tier in the State’s COVID-19 tier system. With summer just weeks away, the news couldn’t have come at a better time for our local businesses!

That means that many businesses (such as restaurants, bars, gyms, movie theaters, and sports venues) are allowed to increase capacity.

However, the State’s indoor mask mandate will remain in place until June 15th. After that, the State will follow the updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The four-week delay is intended to give businesses time to make adjustments and for more people to get vaccinated. (Currently, just over 15 million of the State’s 39.5 million residents are fully vaccinated.)

June 15th is also the day that California is set to fully reopen the economy and drop nearly all COVID-19 restrictions.

But let’s remember: There are still more than 1,500,000 Orange County residents who have not yet been vaccinated!

If you have not yet been vaccinated, visit myturn.ca.gov or call (833) 422-4255 to make an appointment at the City’s drive-thru vaccination clinic at the Great Park.

If you need to be tested, the City has partnered with 360 Clinic to provide free COVID-19 testing at five City facilities. For locations and hours, click here.
