Irvine Resident Susan Hopkins Featured in National Fitness Ad

by ICNV Staff

Susan Hopkins has lived in Northwood for 32 years. She’s always enjoyed a very active lifestyle — playing pickleball, biking and hiking in Irvine’s Open Space Preserve, and working out at her local 24 Hour Fitness Center.

Three years ago, Susan underwent hip replacement surgery. After completing physical therapy, she still didn’t feel like her old self, so she hired a 24 Hour Fitness Center trainer. Susan quickly regained her strength, stability, and confidence. In fact, she was able to complete a strenuous hike in Death Valley just six months after her surgery.

Last fall Susan received a message from 24 Hour Fitness, requesting success stories from members who had hired one of their trainers. Although it had been a few years since her surgery, Susan was happy to share her positive experience. Her story is now being featured in national 24 Hour Fitness ads on social media and television. What Susan appreciates most from her new-found fame is the opportunity to publicly thank her trainer, Nadia.

In addition to her athletic endeavors, Susan enjoys giving back to the community she has called home for more than three decades. She was recognized in 2020 during the COVID pandemic as the Irvine Police Department’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Volunteer of the Year. Through the CERT program, Susan has become part of an all-volunteer team of residents prepared to assist during an emergency.

We want to congratulate Susan on being featured in the 24 Hour Fitness ad campaign, and for her commitment to helping her Irvine neighbors.
