Manu Gurudath is a senior at Irvine High School who is passionate about making apps more accessible and fun. He recently launched his own productivity app, Dysperse, which is available for Apple and Android users.
During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Manu designed a simple pantry tracker for his mom. That tracker has now evolved into a full-featured app to help people stay organized. More than 1,000 students are using the app, many of whom attend schools here in Irvine.
Manu designed the app to feel like a tool anyone can use by making it look like a web browser. You can create tabs, organize tasks into visual collections, and personalize your setup with custom themes, colors, and emojis. Best of all, it works alongside apps like Google Calendar, rather than replacing them.
Dysperse was approved for use on the Irvine Unified School District networks two years ago, and the Chrome extension was approved for student installation last year. It’s now also available on Windows.
To make sure the app remained free, Manu secured sponsorships from companies like Cloudflare, Vercel, and Neon.
