Irvine-Based Business Helps New Immigrant Families Understand the Importance of Giving Back

by ICNV Staff

UCEC families donating pet supplies to Tustin’s animal shelter

The U.S. Center for Education Consulting (UCEC) is an educational consulting firm, with an Irvine-based office. UCEC is dedicated to helping new immigrant families integrate into the local community and assisting them in their children’s educational planning.

A community service class is one of the workshops that UCEC offers to help new immigrant families understand the concept of American community culture and the importance of helping our neighbors.

Every fall, UCEC hosts four hands-on workshops to teach elementary school students the importance of empathy and compassion by showing kindness to others. This year, the children were asked to use their imagination and creativity to decorate place mats for Irvine’s Meals on Wheels program. They also helped craft handmade blankets to donate to Tustin’s animal shelter.

UCEC’s community outreach extended to Pasadena to help a beloved retired teacher who had dedicated her life to serving the Chinese community. During her recovery from heart surgery, UCEC was able to donate more than $5,000 to help her adopted children by assisting with food deliveries and school transportation.

And, when two retired teachers in Altadena lost their homes in January’s devastating wildfire, UCEC helped the families by providing financial aid, food, and clothing.
