Join us as we celebrate and honor Asian Culture!

Pretend City actively acknowledges diversity and looks forward to learning about different cultures. As home to the third largest Asian-American population, we find it crucial to honor Asian Culture. Gather together with us as we explore and draw inspiration from traditional Asian cultural objects.   

Purpose Behind the Play: Hand-eye coordination, sensory integration, cultural competence, social-emotional development, fine motor practice.  

Events:

Smart Art (in the Art Studio): Cherry Blossom Painting> Stop by the art studio to create your own lovely cherry blossom painting using recycled materials.

· Cultural Connection (throughout the day): Red Paper Lanterns> Red lanterns are a recognizable symbol throughout the Asian culture that signifies a prosperous life. Your little light is sure to prosper while they master their fine motor and hand-eye coordination in this activity.

· Motor Movement (throughout the day): Chopstick Sensory Bin> This is one activity where it’s okay to be picky! Explore and discover different cultural objects with this fun sensory bin activity.
