Congratulations to the Irvine chapter of the Assistance League (Irvine AL) for another successful year of providing programs that make a real difference in the lives of Irvine residents.
Each year, the organization hosts Operation School Bell, which provides new school clothing and supplies to income-qualified students enrolled in the Irvine Unified School District (IUSD), while the Family Emergency Support program delivers necessity items to children and adults living in a temporary emergency housing shelter.
Irvine AL also awards scholarships to income-qualified students attending Irvine Valley College (IVC). These scholarships are given to graduating high school seniors, single-parent students, and re-entry students. Also included are students pursuing education through IVC certificate programs and students seeking a career in the auto technology industry.
Irvine AL has partnered with the Irvine Public Schools Foundation to award $15,000 in grants to teachers and counselors to enhance the classroom learning experience.
