The UCI Irvine Museum Collection (located at 18881 Von Karman Avenue, Ste. 100) pays tribute to the California Coast with their “Upon a Painted Ocean” exhibition, now through March 30th.
The exhibition features works by both historical and contemporary artists.
A stunning seascape of Laguna Beach by famed California Impressionist, Guy Rose is a must-see. The piece, Lifting Fog shows Laguna Beach, emerging into the sunlight from the morning fog.
Santa Catalina Island, Coronado Beach, the rocky cliffs of Big Sur, views of San Francisco Bay, and two historic vistas of Crystal Cove are also included.
Featured artists include Rex Brandt, Frank Cuprien, Granville Redmond, Edgar Payne, Ruth Peabody, Arthur Rider, William Ritschel, Donna Schuster, George Gardner Symons, Elmer Wachtel, and William Wendt.
