City of Irvine Launches First-of-Its-Kind Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center

City officials recently announced the launch of the Irvine Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center, a new 25,000-square-foot hub designed to accelerate innovation and generate high-paying jobs by bringing together entrepreneurs, startups, investors, business resource organizations, and strategic partners.

The Center offers office and laboratory workspace, along with access to resources and collaboration opportunities that help innovators launch, grow, and scale their businesses.

The project is the first of its kind in the region, with a municipal government leading the development of an innovation ecosystem through a partnership supported by federal funding, private philanthropy, and regional business organizations. The Center was made possible through nearly $8 million in combined public and private funding, including a $1 million federal appropriation, private donations from the Stella and John Foundation, support from the American Lending Center, and office improvement funding provided by The Irvine Company.

By creating a centralized hub for talent, capital, and business resources, the Center advances the City’s Economic Development Blueprint — a long-term strategy focused on fostering entrepreneurship, driving innovation, and creating high-wage jobs in Irvine.

“The Irvine Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center represents an intentional, generational investment in our City’s future,” said Mayor Larry Agran. “By investing in the people, partnerships, and ideas that drive innovation, we’re creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs, strengthening our local economy, and helping position Irvine for continued leadership in ingenuity and economic development.”
