Throughout the summer, there will be a variety of outdoor community events for families, friends, and neighbors to gather and enjoy summer fun at the City of Irvine’s award-winning parks.
All “Summer in the City” events are free, and no tickets or pre-registration are required.
Movies on the Lawn
On select Friday evenings, Irvine residents are invited to watch family-favorite films under the stars on a giant outdoor screen at Hicks Canyon Community Park (3864 Viewpark Avenue). Bring low-back chairs, blankets, and picnic meals, or enjoy gourmet options from food trucks available at each event. Films begin just after sunset.

Summer Concerts
Enjoy live outdoor concerts at Mike Ward Community Park (20 Lake Road in Woodbridge). Bring your own snacks or purchase food from gourmet food trucks available at each event. Concerts begin at 5:30pm.

Irvine Homecoming Dance
On Saturday, August 8th at 5:30pm, the City will celebrate its 55th anniversary with a homecoming-themed dance party at the Great Park. This community event features food and drinks, live music, a dance floor, and a special toast to Irvine’s 55th anniversary.
Symphony in the Cities
On Sunday, August 15th at 7pm, enjoy an evening of orchestral classics, pop favorites, and patriotic tunes performed live by the Pacific Symphony at Mike Ward Community Park. Pre-concert activities for all ages start at 5:30pm.
