AdvoHealth is a local student-led nonprofit organization dedicated to providing solutions for public health issues in policy and medicine.
In collaboration with the City of Irvine, AdvoHealth is currently working on projects to help raise community awareness regarding the importance of the COVID-19 vaccine and dispel common misconceptions surrounding the vaccine.
The group’s mission is to increase Irvine’s vaccination turnout rate, help establish herd immunity, and promote youth involvement. Specifically, the organization is working to dramatically increase the number of vaccinated students before the start of school in August.
Through a student service event, AdvoHealth will offer student volunteers the opportunity to earn service hours by distributing multi-language informational flyers regarding a future educational webinar.
The webinar will include experts from the City of Irvine, Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), Orange County Health Care Agency, and the Irvine Unified School District. Strategies for reducing vaccine hesitancy will be discussed, and a live sign-up session will be part of the webinar (scheduled for July 19th).
