Irvine Community News & Views has received a number of heartwarming stories from across our City, regarding neighbors helping neighbors.
Younger residents are volunteering to pick up groceries for their older neighbors. And citizens are checking in on one another through the use of social media platforms like Nextdoor. Some of our local seniors are being asked to post notes in their windows to let neighbors on their block know if they need anything.
Those who love to cook are sharing their favorite baked goods with neighbors (leaving them on the doorstep) while flowers and fruit from backyard gardens are being shared between neighbors.
Even as we continue to focus on “physical distancing,” it’s important to know that our neighbors are connecting with one another — sometimes for the very first time.
These simple acts of kindness across our City remind us of the fact that we are all in this together.
