UCI received a record $441 million in this year’s research funding for projects ranging from cutting-edge medical research techniques to new ways to better manage the state’s forests and wildlands in the face of climate change. It’s a 22% increase from last year’s funding.
UCI Health experienced the greatest boost in research funding, garnering $155 million. The Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center received $25 million for research, patient care and clinical trials; and the Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders (M.I.N.D.) received $30 million.
