Former Irvine Educator Releases New Children’s Book

Hugga Loula is a just-published picture book for children 4-8 years old, but “is truly a picture book for everyone,” according to its author, Nancy Dearborn, who worked at Santiago Elementary School, in Irvine, from January through May 2018.

Her book’s character, Hugga Loula is a modern-day hero whose superpower is offering care, comfort and love to a world desperately in need of all three.

Irvine High School Students Write COVID-19 Book

Two Irvine high school students (and siblings), Neil and Monica Pal, have written a children’s book focused on helping kids deal with fears surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
 

Neil and Monica’s family owns a Montessori preschool, which allowed them to see firsthand how young children were confused and frightened by the uncertainty in their lives when the pandemic struck.

Wanting to help, Neil and Monica teamed up to write The COVID-19 ABC Alphabet Book.
