Avram & Bo
Here at Irvine Community News & Views, we want to publicly thank longtime Irvine resident Avram Grossman and his beloved Samoyed dog Bo for being good neighbors.
On January 15th just before 10pm, Avram and Bo were out on their nightly walk. As they were passing the Light of Christ Church parking lot near Culver Plaza, Bo suddenly stopped and alerted Avram to a problem.
Although Avram didn’t initially see anything out of the ordinary, Bo insisted that they walk closer to investigate. What they soon discovered was a young teen curled up in a dark corner on the ground, completely unresponsive.
Avram immediately contacted the Irvine Police Department (IPD) to report the incident. Officers arrived within minutes and attempted to rouse the individual, who showed no response and appeared to be in medical distress. Orange County Fire Authority paramedics and an ambulance quickly followed, and the individual was transported from the scene for medical care.

Police and paramedics at the scene
Given the late hour, cold temperatures, and pitch-black location, the situation could have had a far more serious outcome if Bo had not drawn attention to the teen’s location, and Avram had not taken quick action to alert authorities.
We want to thank Bo for his keen observation skills and Avram for his quick response that just might have saved their young neighbor’s life.
