“She’s Business” is a global, student-led organization founded in 2024 by Irvine High School senior Fidan Aliyeva to help young women explore business and entrepreneurship. Through research and educational resources, the organization gives students opportunities to develop professional skills and gain experience in the field.
Since its founding, “She’s Business” has grown to more than 180 interns and 10 chapters worldwide, from New Delhi to North Carolina.
The organization also publishes the She’s Business Journal, which features student-written research and articles on business, leadership, and current events.
Recently, “She’s Business” hosted a 60-second pitch challenge open to students worldwide. The competition received about 50 submissions, with winners receiving a $30 gift card, a feature on the organization’s website or in its journal, and a certificate. “Seeing how everyone articulated their ideas and the different types of issues that they personally experienced was eye-opening, and it made me realize this is why I started this organization — to learn from other people,” Aliyeva said.
Aliyeva’s interest in business began during childhood, when her father’s work gave her an early look into entrepreneurship. She would visit his office, interact with his employees, and watch how he built a career around his own ideas and decisions. His example sparked her interest, which she later developed through experiences with “Future Business Leaders of America” and “Virtual Enterprises.”
While the organization reaches students around the world, Irvine remains its home. “She’s Business” has an established chapter at Irvine High School, with local students participating in the recent pitch challenge. As the organization continues to grow, Aliyeva hopes to strengthen its connection to the local Irvine community and create more opportunities for students to engage with the business world around them.
