Unexpected events can happen at any time — from wildfires and power outages to other emergencies that disrupt daily operations. Being prepared can make the difference between a brief interruption and a lasting business setback.
To help local businesses build resilience, the City of Irvine’s Office of Economic Development and the Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce are launching a new three-part Emergency Preparedness Series for Businesses.
Designed for businesses of all sizes, the series will provide practical tools, expert guidance, and actionable strategies to help protect employees, safeguard operations, and recover more quickly when the unexpected happens.
The first workshop, Emergency Response & Fire Safety, will be held on July 16th. Led by experts from the City of Irvine’s Office of Emergency Management and the Orange County Fire Authority, the session will cover emergency response procedures, employee safety, fire prevention, and preparedness for natural disasters.
Irvine Police Lieutenant Sarah Leclercq emphasized the important connection between public safety and business preparedness. “Emergency preparedness is a shared responsibility,” said Lieutenant Leclercq. “By helping businesses prepare for challenging situations, we strengthen the safety and resilience of the entire Irvine community.”
Whether you’re updating an existing emergency plan or creating one for the first time, businesses are encouraged to attend one or all three workshops to strengthen their preparedness and build confidence for whatever comes next.
