The Irvine chapter is one of 120 Assistance League chapters nationwide. This past year, Assistance League chapters across America — with more than 20,000 members — returned $38.8 million dollars to local communities, investing more than 3.2 million service hours and touching the lives of more than 12 million children, seniors, families and others in need.
Our local Irvine chapter has approximately 100 active members, additional community volunteers, and around 125 middle and high school students who are in the Assisteens program. Irvine’s Assisteens log over 24,000 volunteer hours each year staffing various philanthropic projects.
One of the chapter’s most popular programs, Operation School Bell, is dedicated to providing new school clothes for Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) Pre-K to 12th grade students from income-qualified families.
ALI’s scholarship program provides financial assistance for graduating seniors from Irvine high schools as well as scholarships at Irvine Valley College for returning students, single parents, emancipated youths, and veterans.
On Saturday, March 22nd, there will be a “New Member Coffee” at the ALI Thrift & Gift Shop (2452 Alton Parkway). It’s the perfect opportunity to learn more about the organization and how you can join.
