Smith’s Picks by Joel Smith
*Football Game of the Week: Friday, September 15th: Irvine High School vs. Estancia High School (Costa Mesa, CA) @ Irvine Stadium, 7pm
*Irvine’s Hidden Gems: Food-Casual: Northwood Pizza, in Northwood off Yale and Irvine Blvd.
Tons of new pizza places are popping up nowadays, many of them in the build your own pizza category, which I do enjoy. But this is the best pizza around in my opinion. It’s normal pizza crust, not the new, thin crust that everyone loves, but damn is it good. If you get pepperoni you can ask for extra crispy pepperonis, and be sure to ask for ranch to dip your pizza in.
Honorable Mention: Tacos & Co, locations off Culver & Michelson and Irvine Center Drive & Sand Canyon (highly recommend their breakfast burrito, probably my favorite in all of Orange County)
