The Veterans Cemetery Story Continues…

by

Our Irvine Community News & Views coverage of the Veterans Cemetery continues.  Whether the approved plans to build the Veterans Memorial Park and Cemetery in the Great Park are honored by the City Council — or not — is of immense importance not just to Orange County veterans and their families, but to all Irvine residents as well.  We have news stories and analysis on pages 1-3 of the print version.  And we hear from residents and veterans themselves in our Open Forum section.

Also, be sure to take a look at our petition page, that includes an appeal encouraging Irvine residents to sign an online petition, calling upon the City Council to follow through on the Great Park Veterans Cemetery project.

I want to express ICNV’s recognition and gratitude to Councilmembers Jeff Lalloway and Lynn Schott for their leadership — remaining steadfast in their support for the Veterans Cemetery in the Great Park, which has been planned and approved for years…and where it belongs.  Now, let’s get it built and operational!

Dr. Harvey Liss, an investigative journalist and Science & Technology Editor with ICNV, introduces an important series on the global Climate Crisis — and what role Irvine and other municipalities can play in meeting this challenge.

As always, thank you for your continuing readership!

Franklin J. Lunding
