The holidays are the perfect time to visit the Irvine Animal Care Center — located at 6443 Oak Canyon — to meet a host of pets (cats, dogs, and rabbits) who are anxiously waiting for their forever home.
The Irvine Animal Care Center (IACC) is a progressive and innovative no-kill animal shelter. Situated on 3.73 acres, the facility is located in a park-like setting. All animals in their care receive top-notch veterinary care, high-quality food, soft bedding and daily socialization.
If you are 62 or older, you may be eligible to adopt a senior animal for free through the Seniors Helping Seniors program.
In addition to pet adoptions, IACC offers licensing services and foster programs.
The facility’s Third Chance for Pets program transfers animals from overcrowded Southern California shelters where they may have limited chances for adoption, and brings them to the center for a chance at finding their forever home in Irvine.
If you’re an animal lover with some free time on your hands, you may want to consider volunteering at IACC. You must be at least 18 years old to volunteer and able to commit at least 4 hours per month.
