If you’ve been thinking about welcoming a new four-legged member to your family, we encourage you to visit the Irvine Animal Care Center (IACC).

IACC — located at 6443 Oak Canyon — is a progressive and innovative no-kill animal shelter.  Situated on 3.73 acres, the facility is located in a park-like setting.  All animals in their care receive top-notch veterinary care, high-quality food, soft bedding and daily socialization.

On Sunday, June 2nd, IACC will host their 12th annual Super Pet Adoption event from 10am until 3pm.  Local pet rescue groups and animal shelters will bring about 500 homeless dogs, cats, rabbits, and small animals for adoption.

There will also be dozens of pet-related vendors and gourmet food trucks.  Each animal available for adoption will be spayed or neutered, microchipped, and evaluated by a veterinarian.  Cats and dogs are vaccinated appropriate to age.  For more information on this annual event, click here.

If you are 62 or older, you may be eligible to adopt a senior animal for free through the Seniors Helping Seniors program.

In addition to pet adoptions, IACC offers licensing services and foster programs.

Their Third Chance for Pets program transfers animals from overcrowded Southern California shelters where they may have limited chances for adoption, and brings them to the center for a chance at finding their forever home.

If you’re an animal lover with some free time on your hands, you may want to consider volunteering at IACC.  You must be at least 18 years old to volunteer and able to commit at least 4 hours per month.
