In September, Irvine Community News & Views endorsed Ed Pope for Mayor of Irvine and Jaci Woods and Frank McGill for City Council. In recommending Pope, Woods and McGill, ICNV staff and expert consultants kept in mind the two questions Irvine voters are asking:
First, “Which candidates for Mayor and City Council were YES on B and which were NO on B on the June 5th ballot?” Measure B was Mayor Wagner’s land-swap and development scheme to replace our construction-ready Veterans Cemetery in the Great Park with massive office and industrial development, bringing 10,000 additional cars and trucks to Irvine every day.
Second, “Which candidates for Mayor and City Council have been taking major campaign funding from FivePoint and other developers?”
